Adopt a positive attitude

It's very important to be optimistic. Don't think in a negative way. If you do, you will never be happy.

Of course, everyone would be happy if things went according to plan all the time. But, no one is perfect, so there will be hurdles along the way.

We cannot control anything except our emotions.

When some teenagers face problems, they resort to suicide. Can suicide solve all our problems? No. By taking our own lives, we pass on the problems - and the grief - to our parents.

If we don't want this to happen, we should be positive all the time.

From the Editor

Thanks for your letter, Hiu-sze. Have you ever noticed the way that some people always seem to have something to complain about? They might not have a serious problem, but they still find something to grumble about, whether it's the weather or their hair. They are born moaners. And then there are others who never seem to complain. They always see a silver lining.

There are no prizes for guessing who I'd rather spend my time with. Optimistic people lift you - they help you see the positive in situations and are more fun to be around. Meanwhile, negative people drain your energy.
