A strong financial leader is needed to help a non-governmental organisation.

Haven of Hope Christian Service is looking for a head of finance to spearhead finance and accounting operations, including financial budgeting, costing, inventory, cash flow review and forecasts.

The incumbent must have strong analytical capabilities and business acumen, and a high level of integrity. The position involves evaluating operation performance, monitoring variances and making recommendations.

Answering to the chief executive, the team player would also provide financial analysis and advice to senior management on strategic matters. A university graduate in accounting or finance with 10 years' experience and professional accountancy qualifications is preferred.

The candidate would expect to take on a number of tasks including monitoring preparations in a timely manner and ensuring the accuracy and wholeness of financial and management reports.

Someone able to work to tight deadlines and take up ad hoc projects would be ideal in co-ordinating budgeting activities.

Being technically competent and familiar with Hong Kong accounting standards and taxation regulations is important when developing and implementing internal control procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies and statutory requirements and recommending improvements in the current system.

The role would see collaboration with external professionals such as auditors, solicitors, bankers and investors. Fluency in English and Chinese is a must.
