Two suspected shoplifters were apprehended outside a high-end fashion store in Tsim Sha Tsui yesterday. Officers followed a man and woman after spotting them acting in a suspicious manner between Canton and Peking roads. The pair later pretended to be customers inside the Ermenegildo Zegna store at One Peking and asked for assistance from staff. Officers stopped them outside after a 49-year-old man allegedly took a handbag worth HK$5,500 and walked out with a 48-year-old woman at 2pm. The pair are local residents, surnamed Cheung and Tso respectively.
