HK a striker shy for Timor clash

Hong Kong's squad were a man short when they departed for their World Cup qualifier against East Timor in Bali yesterday, after Cameroon-born striker Gerard Ambassa Guy (pictured) failed to show up at the airport. 'The absence of the player will certainly affect the team, but we can do nothing about it now,' said coach Kenny Lai Sun-cheung. 'However, I am still confident we stand a good chance of winning.' Lai added there would be an investigation when the squad return. The away match will be played in Bali, although Hong Kong unsuccessfully tried to have the match moved to the SAR, citing travel difficulties in getting to the original venue in East Timor.
