Two bodies found in sunken boat, one missing

The bodies of two of the three people missing after a sampan sank off Lantau on Thursday were found in the boat on the seabed yesterday. The search for a 70-year-old man was continuing last night, the Marine Department said. The bodies of the two women were discovered at about 5.30pm and 6.30pm after a hydrographic survey boat located the sunken sampan. Police were trying to establish the women's identity last night. Three men also on the sampan, which sank on the way from Tong Fuk on Lantau to Siu A Chau, were rescued by passing fishermen. Police arrested the boat owner for endangering the safety of others at sea. He has been released on bail.
