Baptist University will relaunch a postgraduate diploma in early childhood education next year after failing to get it off the ground this August.
Head of early childhood education at its School of Continuing Education Amelia Lee Nam-yuk said the full-time course had been delayed by university procedures and getting the backing from overseas academics.
By August, most graduates already had secured jobs and it was too late for them to take up another course, Ms Lee said.
The course will start in January and the school hopes to offer positions to 30 part-time students aspiring to be kindergarten teachers.
'This is to align with the government's vision of raising the academic qualifications of teachers of early childhood education,' Ms Lee said.
The course, which can be completed in two years part-time, costs HK$63,000. It will be offered full-time next September.
