Five vehicles torched in attacks

Four cars and a taxi were damaged in a series of arson attacks before dawn yesterday. The first fire started in a car parked opposite Sha Tin racecourse at 4.05am. Police said the car's windows had been smashed before the blaze. A taxi later caught fire outside Fanling East Rail station. The third vehicle went up in flames near Yuen Long West Rail station and two cars were later found on fire in Castle Peak Road outside Pok Wai. No one was hurt. Fire officers have referred the cases to police.
