It may be hard to consider a race your home one if you have to make a ferry trip and a border crossing to get there, but try telling that to a trio of Hong Kong drivers racing at the Zhuhai International Circuit this weekend.

The threesome - Ross Jamison, Marchy Lee Yin-kin and Darryl O'Young - will compete today and tomorrow in Formula BMW Asia and in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia as part of the Asian Festival of Speed.

Four races over the weekend will determine the final standings in Formula BMW Asia and while Jamison is fourth, his lead in the rookie cup was narrowed to 37 points after not finishing in Shanghai last month. That Jamison, Lee and O'Young (who both race in the Carrera Cup) are intimately acquainted with the 4.3km Zhuhai circuit has provided the three with extra confidence. 'I really know the venue,' said Lee, who will return to Zhuhai on December 16 to compete for Team China in A1GP.

'I know the circuit, hopefully I can [win].'

For O'Young, Zhuhai is memorable as it is where he clinched the 2006 Carrera Cup series.

'It was my first championship in Asia and that was the big thing that made [Zhuhai] so special,' O'Young said. 'I'm lucky - I have Zhuhai and Macau so I get two home races.' Neither O'Young nor Lee is in contention for the Carrera Cup title, with O'Young having joined for only the last three races of the season after competing in Europe's Porsche Supercup series. By contrast, Lee has been driving on and off with his team for the season, having competed at Sentul and Shanghai.

That neither will win the title is not a racing deterrent. In Shanghai, O'Young was second, finishing three-tenths of a second behind series leader Tim Sudgen. Lee finished third.
