Multiple time zones help the well-travelled keep track of time at home and away

Officine Panerai Ferrari Granturismo GMT Alarm HK$77,000

Part of the Engineered by Officine Panerai series, this watch has a decidedly sporty aesthetic demonstrated in the square-grille pattern on the dial. The watch is powered by a Panerai Calibre OP XXIV automatic movement and has a second time zone and sound signal which can be programmed as an alarm clock or an appointment reminder. The dial has a GMT indicator and date window. It is waterproof to 100 metres.

Chanel J12 GMT Automatic HK$41,500

The J12GMT Automatic is the first GMT watch from Chanel. At 10mm the watch case is 4mm thinner than the Chanel J12Chronograph and is designed for ergonomic comfort. Local time is displayed on the main dial, while the time in the user's home country is shown on a 24-hour calibrated bezel. The watch is made from black ceramic.

Patek Philippe Calatrava Travel Time HK$209,500

This year the watchmaker expanded the Calatrava line to include a women's range of dual time watches. The feminine version keeps the characteristics of the men's line - the classic Calatrava case and the movement simultaneously displaying two time zones. A mother-of-pearl dial and diamond-set bezel add a feminine touch.

This watch features a triple time zone function: local time is displayed with the traditional central hours and minutes, while second and third time zones, with day and night indicators, are displayed on the left and right side of the watch face. A world map motif is etched on the dial. Production is limited to 28 pieces. The watch won the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix award for the men's watch last year.

Designed for seasoned travellers, the distinctive feature of this watch is its bezel that indicates the hour in a second time zone. The bezel features Arabic numerals and a 24-hour graduated scale - the bezel is rotated to line up a second time zone with a pointer. The watch has a power reserve of 65 hours and is water resistant to 300 metres.

Ebel Hexagon GMT HK$28,500

The brand's classic Hexagon comes in a brand new size at 45.5mm. This model with an automatic movement has a sub dial at the 6 o'clock position showing the second time zone.
