An unemployed man was charged yesterday by the Independent Commission Against Corruption for attempted bribery over the coming district council election. Leung Ngar-yan, 52, allegedly tried twice to solicit an unknown sum and later HK$120,000 from a candidate in Yat Chak, Yuen Long, to induce people to vote for the candidate. He was also charged with trying to accept HK$2,000 from the candidate.
