Go green this Christmas: the Megaman Recycled Material Christmas Decoration Competition 2007 is now open for applications.

The competition is jointly presented by Christian Action and Megaman. It aims to enhance the environmental awareness of students and the public and encourage them to have an environmentally friendly Christmas.

The competition is open to schools and members of the public.

Primary and secondary students can submit their work individually or in groups.

Members of the public can enter the competition individually or as parent-child teams.

Participants must design a Christmas decoration using only recycled materials.

Submissions will be judged based on creativity, eco-friendliness, functionality and Christmas theme.

Ten finalists will be selected from each sub-group and awarded certificates. There will be three top prizes for each sub-group and a Megaman Grand Award for the best entry.

Winning designs will be exhibited at Dragon Centre from December 17 to 23.

Enrolment costs $HK50 per entry. All proceeds will be donated to Christian Action's Social and Humanitarian Services.

As well as the competition, Christian Action will host seminars in schools to promote environmental conservation. They will also host a Charity Catwalk Show at Dragon Centre on November 24.

Competition entries must be received on or before December 9.
