Against Child Abuse Set up in 1979, it is the only non-governmental organisation that specialises in child protection in Hong Kong.

Wish To support families at risk through educating parents, forums and professional assistance.

Christian Action Has promoted welfare of the poor and disadvantaged since 1950s.

Wish To provide basic support to migrant families, including shelter; education, homework and language support; as well as psychological assistance.

Christian Family Service Centre - Lai Chi Centre Established in 1954 to help refugees. Now provides child care, family service, rehabilitation and support for the elderly.

Hong Kong Federation of Women's Centres Established in 1981, a non-government organisation working to empower women through its centres in Sham Shui Po and Tai Po.

Wish To enhance the well-being of women who care for elderly or disabled family members through training and practical and emotional support.

Medical Issues

Children's Heart Foundation Founded by concerned parents and volunteers in 1994.

Wish To buy a portable ultrasound machine to benefit 300-400 children being treated at the Heart Centre, Grantham Hospital.

Children's Thalassaemia Foundation Set-up in 1993 to improve clinical care, medical research and public awareness of thalassaemia, an inherited blood disorder.

Wish To reduce mortality rates through provision of magnetic resonance.

Little Life Warrior Society Established in 2002 by medical staff at Prince of Wales Hospital, cancer patients and their families.

Wish To help children with cancer in their battle for life. Aims to give patients and families confidence, knowledge and provide psychological support.

United Christian Nethersole Community Health Service Since 1972 it has provided health education and promoted preventive health care to the community.

Wish To prevent blindness and disability among diabetes sufferers by providing regular examinations for patients in East Kowloon.


Haven of Hope's Sister Annie Skau Nursing Home Established in 2005, it provides holistic immediate and long-term care.

Wish A 24-hour multi-sensory environment to enable patients to regain their senses.

Senior Citizen Home Safety Association Founded in 1996 after more than 100 elderly people living alone were found dead after a cold spell.

Wish To promote a healthy lifestyle, a positive self-image and the benefits of mutual support to the elderly.

Children & Young People

Chi Heng Foundation Set up in 1998, it provides education and support to Aids-affected children and conducts HIV prevention on the mainland.

Wish To build, furnish and stock reading rooms for six schools in poor villages in central China.

Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation Established in 1993, it offers young people a broad range of non-competitive arts experiences.

Wish To develop a series of puppet-making workshops and performances for children in need to channel them into communicating in a positive manner.

Playright Children's Play Association Established in 1987, it seeks to enrich the life of every child through play.

Wish To provide psychosocial care to children in hospitals so children learn to face their treatment more positively, with less anxiety and more co-operation with medical staff.

KELY Support Group Kids Everywhere Like You is a bilingual peer-support group established by young people in 1991 to deal with drug and alcohol problems.

Wish To raise young people's drug awareness by building leadership skills that support them to become positive role models and pass on anti-drug messages to their peers.

The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups Tin Yuet Youth S.P.O.T The federation has been serving young people for over 40 years with support that includes counselling, outreach, leadership training, and employment support.

Wish To develop the potential of more than 500 disadvantaged young people in Tin Shui Wai by exposing them to various opportunities.

Mental & Physical Disabilities

Rehabaid Society Set up in 1979 and dedicated to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities and chronic illnesses.

Wish To empower people with severe disabilities to overcome the daily difficulties posed by their disability, by offering appropriate assistant technology and training.

Riding for the Disabled Association Founded in 1975 by Lady MacLehose, it provides riding instruction and other activities.

Wish To establish rehabilitation horse-riding programmes for new potential riders and an intensive training programme for existing riders, aiming at an opportunity to take part 2008 Paralympics.

St James Settlement A multi-service welfare organisation established in 1949.

Wish To assist children with developmental delay by providing them and their families with education, support and psychological follow-up.
