Like the rest of us, architects multitask, some of them using their skills for creations much smaller than the buildings they were trained to design. Denmark's Peter Karpf is one. A winner of the Bruno Mathsson Prize - Scandinavia's most prestigious design award - he is lauded for his wood and Plexiglas chairs and a series of lamps. His sense of form is evident even in objects as simple as candleholders, as his Gemini design reveals. The stainless-steel, semi-circular candleholder, which accommodates two candles, can be grouped in different ways to produce countless shapes. Naturally, the more you buy, the more complex are the configurations possible. The Gemini costs HK$598 from Addiction, 15 Gough Street, Central, tel: 2581 2779.
