Temperatures will fall in the next few days as a northeast monsoon blows over southern China, Observatory senior officer Mok Hing-yim said. The monsoon reached the coast of southern China on Sunday.
Mr Mok said the morning temperature in urban areas would drop as low as 18 degrees Celsius, and those areas would see a maximum temperature of 24 degrees Celsius. Temperatures in the New Territories would be one or two degrees lower.
Temperatures this week would be one or two degrees lower than last week, something elderly people in particular should be mindful of, he said.
The next few days would be sunny and dry during the day.
