Caterers under a cloud

The Independent Commission Against Corruption received 68 corruption reports concerning the catering industry in the first nine months of this year. Thirty-two people were prosecuted.

Security guards robbed

A gang of six or seven men tied up two security guards at a construction site in Hin Tai Street, Sha Tin, and robbed them of about HK$2,000 at 4am. The gang then ransacked an office at the site and stole some construction materials.

Teen hurt in crash

A teenager was injured when the car she was travelling in hit a lamp post and overturned on Tsing Yi North Coastal Road at 4.30am. The girl, 16, was treated at Princess Margaret Hospital and discharged.

Six held in drug raid

Five men and a woman, aged between 24 and 41, were arrested for possession of drugs at a bar in Garden Street, Mong Kok, at 11.30pm on Saturday. Officers seized drugs with an estimated value of HK$23,000. All six were released on bail and required to report back in January.

Rice cake proves fatal

A 50-year-old man choked and died while eating sticky rice cake at a flat at Nga Tsin Wai Road in Kowloon City.
