Couple held for leaving 5 daughters at home

Police arrested a 32-year-old man and his 28-year-old wife on Saturday night for allegedly neglecting their five children, aged between one and seven years old. Neighbours sought help from police after they found the couple's five daughters had been left alone at their public housing flat in Shek Lai House at Shek Yam Estate, Kwai Chung. Some neighbours said the girls had been running around naked in the corridor and at a lift lobby. The couple were released on bail last night and have to report to police today. The Social Welfare Department said it was following up the case.
