Moe game to have a go

Sadly, they don't talk about winning titles at inProjects Kowloon these days. The team that began the season with title aspirations are looking for salvation as they try to cope with increasing injuries and ever-confident opposition who today come in the form of top guns CBRE Club.

'Problems, we have plenty. I don't know where to begin,' said Kowloon player-coach Fred Moe yesterday. 'Our enthusiasm and motivation was pretty high at the beginning of the season, but now we are struggling.'

With almost two-thirds of the First Division season completed, Kowloon are in the bottom half of the standings, having only won three out of eight games. They have even been forced to postpone one game - against Synovate HKCC - after failing to raise numbers.

'We don't have the depth,' lamented Moe. 'And a spate of injuries has made our problems bigger.'

It will take a massive effort from Kowloon at So Kon Po today to get the better of high-flying Club, who have only lost once this season and top the charts. Weakened in the front row, the backline has also been robbed of scrumhalf Jeff Wong, still nursing a shoulder injury picked up on national sevens duty, captain Ashley Bond and Mike Diamond - the latter serving a two-week suspension. 'Our sole aim against Club will be to go out and try and prove a point,' added Moe.

In the other First Division encounter, HKCC take on Generali Causeway Bay Rams.
