Elderly services body gets to work

The subcommittee on elderly services under the Legislative Council's welfare services panel held its first meeting yesterday. Members said its work would focus on the economic needs of underprivileged elderly people, including reviewing and revising criteria for old age Comprehensive Social Security Assistance applicants. The subcommittee will serve for eight months. Frederick Fung Kin-kee, of the Association for Democracy and People's Livelihood, was elected as chairman yesterday.
