Samsung Electronics is on the offensive in the highly competitive lifestyle digital photography market, having unleashed its latest New Vision-series camera: the NV20. It sports an advanced 12.1-megapixel lens (with 3x optical zoom) from innovative German photographic optics supplier Schneider Kreuznach, which helps single this camera out. Other prominent features include a 2.5-inch colour screen with Smart Touch interface, automatic contrast balance, built-in editing software, a face-recognition system (focusing on up to nine faces per frame) and Samsung's proprietary Advanced Shake Reduction for sharp images. The device works with both Windows and Macintosh systems.

Beyond those technologies, the camera has style to spare. It has a black metal body with a high-gloss, retro look and feel, which users will find sturdy and suitable for exploring the great outdoors. The Samsung NV20 costs HK$3,290.
