A man was arrested in Yuen Long early yesterday on suspicion of stealing frozen chickens and chicken and duck feet worth about HK$1,600. Officers spotted a 29-year-old man at about 4am loading four boxes of frozen chicken placed outside a food stall into his van. He initially claimed he had picked up the goods by mistake but eventually admitted he planned to resell them to other shops and hawkers. Police have received a number of reports in recent weeks of food being stolen from stalls in the area.
