Monument status for ancestral hall

The Tang Ancestral Hall and its adjoining buildings in Ha Tsuen, Yuen Long, will become monuments. The Antiquities Advisory Board's classification of the ancestral hall, also known as Yau Kung Tong, as a Grade I historical building will have effect from February. The building, typical of Qing architecture, was built during the reign of Emperor Qianlong around 1750. The site will open to the public after restoration work is completed.
