Don't expect to break a sweat

Groove to the smooth dance rhythms and vocals of System by Seal, his first album after a four-year hiatus. Fans of Seal's earlier work will be pleased to hear him going back to his roots and bringing a mature, intelligent fusion of dance and electronica.

Unlike most dance albums, with loud repetitive synth tones and brash beats that are musically pointless off the dance floor, Seal has produced dance music with smart lyrics and enjoyable melodies that can be listened to on and off the dance floor.

Seal takes a near-suicidal chance by doing a duet with his supermodel wife Heidi Klum on Wedding Day, a love song about (you've guessed it) their wedding day. Heidi does a passable job with her soft sultry voice; thankfully her part is not technically difficult so she doesn't embarrass her husband.

Many of the other tracks, such as If It's In My Mind, It's On My Face, System and The Right Life, seem vaguely similar structurally and musically.

Nearly every track on the album would benefit from a re-mix to make it more interesting.

System doesn't really have any stand-out tracks. The music is easy on the ears and good to dance to - but just don't expect to break a sweat.
