Boyfriend in knife attack suspected of drug use
Police are investigating whether a man, 37, was under the influence of illegal drugs when he attacked his girlfriend with a knife in a Mong Kok flat yesterday. The attack happened when the woman, 33, was asleep in the Mong Kok Road flat at about 5.55am. She ran out of the flat and called police. Officers arrested the man and seized a small quantity of suspected ketamine. The woman was in a stable condition in Kwong Wah Hospital. The man was being held for questioning.
Myiasis case triggers alert
The Centre for Health Protection issued an alert after a Yuen Long man contracted human myiasis, the tenth case this year. The man, 68, was admitted to hospital with nose bleeds on December 3 and staff found maggots in his nose.
City Hall wedding venue to close
One of two marriage halls at City Hall will close from January 2 because of low use, the Immigration Department said. The daily quota at City Hall will be drop from 46 to 23. About one-third of the city's 32,056 weddings in the first three quarters were notarised by civil celebrants.

The latest-posting date for local delivery of mail before Christmas Day is December 21, Hongkong Post said.
