Auction house Bonhams' recent autumn sale of fine Chinese and western arts and crafts was preceded by a cocktail party that raised funds for the Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation.

As art lovers mulled over their biddings at the JW Marriott Hotel, they watched a video of the action star encouraging them to support his foundation. A special watch by the Shanghai Nationwide Treasure Watch Company was sold for HK$500,000, a significant sum for the charity. The auction winner, Karen Suen, was beaming and Sir David Akers-Jones accepted the cheque for the foundation.

Other guests included Bonhams' Asia boss Colin Sheaf, Leonora Yung, Alan Mao, Peter Sargent, Peter Solomon and Tuyet Nguyet.
