Spending on illegal drugs up over holidays

Young people double their spending on illegal drugs over Christmas, a survey by the Caritas Lok Heep Club has found. Of 100 drug users aged between 13 and 30, 58 per cent said their spending on drugs increased to at least HK$400 during holidays. Daniel Shek Tan-lei, a social work professor at Chinese University, warned parents to be alert to the activities their children attended during Christmas and to take notice of the people they spent their time with.
