Buildings to be assessed this year

The government will complete the assessment of the historic value of more than 1,400 old buildings this year, Thomas Chow Tat-ming, director of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, said yesterday. He said the results would be submitted to the Antiquities Advisory Board for consultation. Responding to lawmakers' worries, Mr Chow said the government had speeded up the assessment process.
