Kyoto Joe in Lan Kwai Fong is featuring special ingredients from Hokkaido. The menu includes thinly sliced flounder sashimi with sweet vinegar and kimchi sauce, steamed Japanese kegani crab with lime ponzu sauce, mixed seaweed salad and soy-wasabi sauce, grilled Hokkaido king crab leg with bafun sea urchin and butter egg sauce, and lightly seared Japanese Saga beef slices with teriyaki sauce. The Peninsula has a 'cruise and dine' package until the end of February. Guests can sip champagne as they take a 45-minute cruise around the harbour on the Star Ferry's Shining Star boat before going to the hotel's Lobby Lounge for a three-course set dinner for two with a bottle of Peninsula wine. For the main course there's rolled sole fillet with lemon dill cream, herb potatoes and broccoli Polonaise or pan-roasted boneless spring chicken with buttery fingerling potatoes and fried onion rings. The dessert is poached caramelised pear with cinnamon ice cream and roasted almonds or dark Valrhona chocolate mousse with mint cream. It costs HK$1,288 plus 10 per cent. Bookings: 2313 3170

The Greenery at the Royal Garden hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui is expanding its dinner buffet. New dishes include grilled sushi, American teppanyaki steak, Australian Wagyu steak and Hainan chicken rice. The buffet is HK$338 plus 10 per cent for adults (HK$238 for children) Monday to Thursday and HK$378 (HK$278 for children) Friday to Sunday and on the eve of public holidays. Bookings: 2733 2030

The Patio Coffee Shop at the Renaissance Kowloon Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui is serving a seafood dinner buffet until the end of February. The international selection includes chilli crab, marinated jumbo prawns with Thai chilli sauce, stir-fried baby lobster with black pepper sauce, baked salmon fillet with puff pastry, crab meat with mango and marinated king crab legs with air-dried bacon (above). The buffet is HK$318 plus 10 per cent for adults (HK$208 for children and senior citizens) Monday to Thursday and HK$338 (HK$218 for children and senior citizens) Friday to Sunday and on the eve and day of public holidays.
