Treasure hunters return

The sequel to the 2004 blockbuster, which starred Oscar winners Nicholas Cage and Jon Voight as a father-son treasure hunting duo, National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets sees both actors return to their roles.

This time, Ben and Patrick Gates are on a quest to clear the name of an ancestor who was recently accused of leading the conspiracy to assassinate Abraham Lincoln.

In order to do this, they have to find the lost City of Gold.

The film is as exciting and funny as its predecessor, and sends Cage's character running around the world - from France to England and back to the United States - in search of clues.

To complete their task, the Gates even have to kidnap the US President, who turns out to be very understanding about the whole situation.

Joining the boys on this outing is Helen Mirren as Cage's mother Emily Appleton.

She plays a professor who can read a message in a long-dead native American language offering vital clues.

Anyone who has ever read an American history book could tell you that, historically, the storyline doesn't work.

Despite these inaccuracies, this is an entertaining movie that's worth the ticket price.
