Music to save the planet

Rock around the world with this two-DVD and CD set of recordings from Live Earth: The Concerts For a Climate in Crisis.

On July 7 last year, 150 musical acts played a total of 22 hours in 11 locations to raise awareness of climate change. This set is a collection of the best performances in London, New Jersey and Makahuri Messe, near Tokyo.

The first DVD starts with London's Wembley Stadium and the SOS All-Stars: drummers Roger Taylor (from Queen), Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters) and Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers).

The opener is an amazing percussion piece that includes several Japanese taiko drums and dozens of ethnic drums.

Other highlights include Phil Collins singing Invisible Touch with his old band Genesis, Black Eyed Peas' Where is the Love, Melissa Etheridge's I Need To Wake Up, Kelly Clarkson's Sober and Metallica's Sad But True.

Pop favourites from the 1980s Duran Duran also make an appearance at Wembley with a fitting performance of their classic, Planet Earth.

The second DVD is also chock-a-block with great performance from the likes of Alicia Keys, Enrique Iglesias, Bon Jovi, Rihanna, Linkin Park, Lenny Kravitz and Madonna.

The CD contains a total of 15 live tracks from the DVDs.
