Safety first

Designed for professionals who travel, the new Versa M370 notebook from NEC Computers offers built-in hardware security to prevent unauthorised access to information in the event the laptop, or its hard drive, is lost or stolen. The M370's security chip - called the 'trusted platform module' - acts as a storage vault for the laptop user's credentials. Its advanced security functions include multi-factor authentication, data protection and identification/password management. It is also built with Intel's Centrino Pro processor for easy management. The technology allows an enterprise network administrator to access the software, conduct hardware inventory, diagnose and repair problems and modify the notebook's parameters through a wireless network. The Versa M370, which has a 15.4-inch screen and a 120-gigabyte hard drive, costs HK$7,998.
