The Hong Kong Tennis Champions Cup returns this month for three exciting days.

Hosted by the Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club (CWBGCC), the annual tennis extravaganza will be held from January 25 to 27.

The Champions Cup 2008 is divided into four categories: Men's Singles, Men's Doubles, Ladies' Doubles Challenge and Parent & Child Doubles.

While Men's Singles players are drawn from winners of Hong Kong's top three tournaments and the territory's top-ranked players, Men's Doubles are by invitation.

To encourage public participation, the Ladies' Doubles Challenge and Parent and Child Doubles are open to Hong Kong's tennis enthusiasts, who are welcome to enrol.

The highlight of the Champions Cup is traditionally the Men's Singles with Hong Kong's top-ranked players hitting centre court. The CWBGCC has invited players including Goran Bosalevski, ranked fifth in Hong Kong and winner of three Hong Kong Grand Slam Tournaments.

Other local stars in the Champions Cup lineup include Yu Hiu-tung (ranked first), Wayne Wong (third) and Michael Lai (fourth).

To increase public participation, the Champions Cup is offering total prize money of HK$250,000. This year's title sponsor is Mangrove West Coast.

Other sponsors include Karen's Jewel, Reebok, UBS, Toshiba and Wilson.

Both Ladies' Doubles Challenge and Parent and Child Doubles are now enrolling.

Application forms

can be downloaded from www.cwbgolf.org. The deadline is Monday.

All proceeds from the Parent and Child Doubles will be used for junior tennis development. For enquires, call CWBGCC at 2335 3752.
