Uniglory service
TAIWAN'S Uniglory Marine Corp will launch its new service between the Far East and the east coast of South America at the end of March.
Sailings will be every 11 days, not 18 days as originally intended.
The line is deploying five of its 998-TEU (20 ft equivalent unit) C-class ships on the route, together with three F-class ships, each of around 960 TEUs.
The service represents an extension to the existing Far East-South Africa schedule where the ports of call are Durban and Cape Town plus Port Louis in Mauritius.
South American ports of call will be Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Santos and Rio de Janeiro or Paranagua.
The appointment of agents in Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil will be announced shortly.
Uniglory has also announced changes to its Far East-Arabian Gulf service.
Replacing the five 998-TEU C-class ships which are being switched to the Far East-South Africa-South America service are six larger O-class vessels of about 1,210 TEUs, plus one chartered ship of 926 TEUs.
Sailing intervals will be reduced from 10 days to eight days.
