Sixty prominent Hongkongers who attended university in Britain will help commemorate the British Council's 60 years in the city today with the launch of year-long anniversary celebrations. The council's chief executive (worldwide) Martin Davidson said the Hong Kong branch had evolved from a modest office providing cultural activities and library services into one of the world's biggest British Council offices. The celebrations will include a reading campaign with RTHK, the establishment of a new charity, the Friends of the British Council, and other initiatives.
