OUT of Africa and into the columns of the South China Morning Post comes Dermot Reeve, who has signed up with us and will follow Hong Kong on their odyssey to Kenya for the ICC Trophy.

The England and Warwickshire all-rounder will give his expert comments daily on Hong Kong's progress in the 20-team tournament from February 12-March 6 in Nairobi.

''I believe Hong Kong can qualify for the real World Cup, if the players play to their true potential,'' said Reeve, coach of the 16-man Hong Kong squad who leave today for Kenya.

Dermot's comment on the squad was: ''They must not get overawed by the situation. I have seen it happen a lot of times in first class cricket when players let the occasion get the better of them.

''They have to believe in themselves. Confidence is the key.''
