Container tumbles from truck

A shipping container filled with goods fell from a truck as the vehicle negotiated a roundabout in Container Port Road, Tsing Yi, at about 3am yesterday. Police gave the 47-year-old driver a verbal warning for negligence because he had failed to attach the container properly to the truck.

Technician falls down lift well

A 53-year-old lift technician was slightly injured when he fell 3 metres down a lift well in Far East Finance Centre, Admiralty. Police said the man was working on the ground floor when he slipped and fell at about 6pm. He was taken to Queen Mary Hospital.

Woman thrown 10 metres by car

A woman, 49, was seriously injured when thrown 10 metres by a Sai Kung-bound van that hit her while she was crossing Sai Sha Road at 10.30am. She was in Prince of Wales Hospital in critical condition.

Woman tied up, robbed

A 31-year-old woman was robbed of HK$3,000 in cash and a mobile phone at a flat in Fu Yan Street, Kwun Tong, at 2.30am. The victim went to the flat with a 20-year-old man who threatened to hurt her with a knife, tied her up and stole her handbag once they entered the flat.

Gate thief arrested

A 32-year-old man was arrested in an area of Kowloon City that has suffered a spate of gate thefts recently. A police spokesman said the man, surnamed Sit, was seen by police officers putting a metal gate worth about HK$800 in a truck in Tak Ku Ling Road at 8am, and was arrested.

One ticket won the HK$5,000,000 first prize in last night's draw. The numbers were 8, 13, 18, 22, 26 and 42. The extra number was 43. No tickets won second prize. Third prize paid HK$26,425.
