Fu comes up short in Masters semis

Marco Fu

Marco Fu Ka-chun's fairytale run ended prematurely when he was bundled out in the semi-finals of the British Masters by Stephen Lee. The Englishman, who has been Fu's nemesis on a number of previous occasions, had no problems in seeing off an ineffectual challenge and coasted to an easy 6-2 victory to clinch a berth in the final where he will play Mark Selby for a winner's purse of GBP150,000 (HK$2.29 million). 'At no point did I feel like I had a chance of winning. I felt awful and I couldn't play. There was one frame where I couldn't even break off,' an out-of-sorts Fu told the World Snooker website.
