Police seized 95 counterfeit US$100 banknotes after they arrested an Indian man in an ambush in a Wan Chai residential block yesterday. The seizure came as the result of an investigation into a counterfeit banknote syndicate, police said. The suspect, 29, was intercepted by officers lying in wait outside a flat. Officers found he was carrying bogus notes, which they later said were of 'average' quality.
