Monsoon brings shiver

Today's minimum temperature would fall to 11 degrees Celsius, down on yesterday's 12 degrees, due to a northeast monsoon, the Observatory forecast. It would be overcast with a few rain patches and a maximum temperature of 14. Tomorrow will be a little warmer, with a range of 13 to 16 degrees. The cool weather will remain over the weekend, with the minimum climbing back to 16 on Monday.

Appeal for help to find girl

Police have appealed for help to find a 15-year-old girl missing since she left her To Kwa Wan Road flat on December 3. Her family called police the next day. She is about 1.6 metres tall, of medium build, has a round face and long curly black hair. Anyone with information can call police on 2761 2394 or 2761 2467.

Enrol on do-not-call registry

The office of the do-not-call register for unsolicited prerecorded telephone messages will start to accept registration from prefix-2 and prefix-3 numbers today. To register, call the hotline, 1835000, from the number you want to register. Prefix-6 and prefix-9 numbers will be accepted from February 12 and March 4 respectively.

Cabbie hurt in crash

A taxi driver suffered head and chest injuries after a collision between his vehicle and a double-decker bus in Heung Fan Liu Street outside Mei Tin Estate, Sha Tin, at about 6.45am. The man, 47, was in Prince of Wales Hospital in serious condition.

Arsonists destroy delivery truck

A parked delivery truck was destroyed after it was torched outside a godown in Tai Shu Ha Road West, Yuen Long, at about 1.50am. Police are investigating.

Passers-by arrest car-breaker

Two men helped arrest a man who stole HK$200 after breaking the windows of three parked taxis in Sha Tin at 1.45am. The suspect fled when the two passers-by shouted at him. He was caught after a brief chase.

Most back education vouchers
