Lateral thinking

Dell's first convertible tablet (it can be used in display mode or as a regular laptop) personal computer, the Latitude XT notebook, features an advanced touch-input system that trumps the abilities of tablet PCs from rivals. The Latitude XT's 'capacitive touch' technology senses the touch of a finger or stylus, so users need not tap hard on the screen. Touch response times on the Latitude XT are about 10 times faster than those of Lenovo's ThinkPad X61T. An 'advanced digital palm rejection' system lets the XT ignore inadvertent contact. The notebook, which weighs about 1.63kg, comes with a 12.1-inch screen, an Intel dual-core processor, a full-size keyboard and Dell's round-the-clock technical support service. Prices for the Latitude XT start at HK$17,480.
