Any fashionista worth her salt knows vintage items are essential. Hong Kong, unfortunately, isn't known for its vast selection. Luckily, Keni Valenti, a New York-based dealer and favourite of Victoria Beckham, is in town to show his collection of rare vintage pieces, from 1930s Chanel to 70s Yves Saint Laurent. Items for sale will include couture pieces from defunct houses such as Carven, Pertegaz and Galitzine along with clothing from Halston, Pucci, Gucci and Azzedine Alaia. Standouts include a Balenciaga dress suit from the 50s, a striped Dior gown (above right), a print mod dress from Geoffrey Beene (above left) and a Lanvin flapper dress from the 20s. Also look out for accessories including Ted Lapidus sunglasses and costume jewellery from YSL, Dior and Mugler. Prices range from HK$2,800 to HK$12,000 for jewellery and HK$7,000 to HK$120,000 for clothing. The sale runs today and tomorrow, from 10am to 6pm, at Stitchez, 2/F, Lee Wah Mansion, 171 Hollywood Road, Central, inquiries: 2545 8955.
