Voluntary work is good for you
In Hong Kong most people are only concerned with their own welfare and care little about others.
That's why so many get left behind, like the people who live in Tin Shui Wai.
They need care, not just compassion.
Society can help them.
Volunteers can visit families who have difficulties and offer them support.
I think it would be great to become a volunteer and help people in need.

Thanks for your letter, Maggie. Hong Kong is a metropolis and everyone's busy making money. It can sometimes become impersonal. We should take the time to care about and help others. No one should feel left out in society. We should reach out to those in need.
Volunteering is a good way to help others and enrich your own life at the same time. It is an educational and rewarding experience. You learn to help and communicate with others, and you develop social skills. It also gives you a sense of satisfaction.
So this Lunar New Year holiday, why not sign up as a volunteer and give someone a helping hand? It would make your vacation much more meaningful.
