Tourist guides will be required to complete training courses to renew their licences, Travel Industry Council executive director Joseph Tung Yao-chung said in a radio programme yesterday. Tourist Guides' Association committee member Vincent Yip Yung-kei , said the industry had been informed about the new system and welcomed it, as tourist guides would be encouraged to learn more about new destinations, sights and changes in the industry.
