'Creative force' seeks business developer

A person with a passion for excellence is being sought by a global firm that claims to be 'the creative force behind many of the world's most innovative and sustainable projects'.

Arup, a company of designers, engineers, planners and business consultants, is seeking a business development manager to support its regional growth.

Reporting to the director in charge of business development and the East Asia Regional Board, the manager will spearhead the company's business development.

The candidate must have a university degree with at least 10 years of experience in business development strategy in Asia. He or she must also be familiar with consulting engineering.

The manager would work closely with group leaders, the commercial executive, and the design and technical executive in the East Asia region to explore new markets and opportunities, and formulate strategies.

He or she would also have to propose the direction that the company needed to take.

The successful candidate must possess strategic acumen and confidence in addition to having a positive attitude and being proactive. The candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ideally, the person must also be independent, self-motivated and driven by success.

Fluency in written and spoken English is a must. Knowledge of Cantonese and Putonghua will be an advantage.
