Hong Kong Institute of Education president Anthony Cheung Bing-leung will hold his first forum next week since taking over the helm at the Tai Po institute in January. Professor Cheung is expected to give students and teachers at HKIEd an update on Wednesday on the institute's bid for university status and other developments. Also taking part will be vice-presidents Lee Wing-on and Chris Mong Chan, and acting vice-president Cheng Yin-cheong. Professor Cheung pledged he would hold an institute forum every three months. A University Grants Committee group considering HKIEd's application for a status change will make recommendations this year.
