Brazilian striker Rodrigo Galvao showed what selectors were missing from last Sunday's Lunar New Year Cup as he fired a two-goal salvo to lead Eastern to a 2- 1 victory over Bulova Rangers in the League Cup at Mong Kok Stadium.

Galvao was left out of the Hong Kong League XI side who won the Lunar New Year Cup for the first time in 16 years and the prolific forward vented his frustration at not being picked by scoring his 12th and 13th goals of the season in the group B encounter yesterday. His goals came in the seventh and 46th minute.

The first came when he picked up the ball near the halfway line, played a neat one-two with a teammate and then fired the ball home. The Brazilian completed his brace when he bundled the ball into the net from close range after picking up a cross from the right.

Galvao is now the leading scorer in the competition with three goals.

Rangers' Tochukwu Ekwenugo scored from close range for his team's goal in the 51st minute, although Eastern were already in the driving seat.
