Double happiness for Carina Lau
Carina Lau Ka-ling (below) was a happy woman on Monday. Not only did the actress top the Style Awards poll as reader's choice icon, she also confirmed some stunning news - she and long-time boyfriend Tony Leung Chiu-wai will tie the knot, very likely some time this year. The celebrity couple have been together on and off since 1989.
'Both of us have reached a certain age now, so I think it is just the right time,' she said. 'I want to leave myself some good memories to look back on.'
At an Entertainment Expo press conference on Monday, Leung confirmed the news and said he would make time in his filming schedule for the wedding.
Lau, 42, said they were already planning the 'simple but classy' wedding, but no date had been set. She refused to say whether Leung proposed to her with a ring, instead saying: 'He has bought me many rings over the years. But perhaps you [the media] can help me give him a hint.'
She added: 'But the caring between us is far more important than any material things.'
