Another cold snap is forecast today, with temperatures expected to plummet to 11 degrees Celsius and a couple of degrees lower than that in the New Territories. The Observatory issued a cold weather warning at 4.20pm yesterday following the arrival of a cold winter monsoon. The chilly weather is expected to last until the weekend when sunny periods are forecast, with temperatures between 13 degrees and 19 degrees. The last warning was lifted on February 18 after nearly 600 hours, breaking the 2004 record. Nine temporary shelters were opened.
