Dominique Sing, 14

Canadian Deryck Whibley, the lead singer and guitarist of the pop punk band Sum 41. I think their best songs are Still Waiting, Fat Lip and Over My Head. I just think Sum 41 are really good at what they do.

Sasha Mohinani, 14

Beyonce Knowles, simply because she has an amazing vocal range. No matter what type of song she sings, whether slow or up-beat, all you want to do is sing or dance along.

Maki Mizuno, 16

I don't like to think of having a favourite singer. What I listen to depends on how I feel at the time. Music can impact very strongly on my emotions. I like to listen to all types of music because I dance. This has led me to have an appreciation of all different genres.

Koyle Samtani, 14

Britain's Amy Winehouse. Her grunge/glamour style in clothes and her bluesy/soulful take on music make her stand out from all the other Britneys. The jazzy composition in Rehab is complimented by her deep, sultry voice. Winning five Grammys this year proves she is one of the greatest singers of our time.

Sibi Adhithya Senthilkumar, 15

Eminem - his lyrics are amazing and they rhyme perfectly. He is original and he raps about things that mean something to him. I think he brought a whole new meaning to rap and I listen to his songs frequently.

Nicole Dainton, 16

I have tonnes of favourites, but at the moment I've been listening to a lot of John Mayer's material. Most of my favourite songs are by him: Bigger Than My Body, Your Body Is a Wonderland, Heart of Life, Daughters and so on. His voice is so enticing and smooth.

Krishna Mohinani, 14

Eminem. I like his music as it's real. Although he may seem a little angry, he's definitely got something to say. I think it's awesome that he's got the confidence to express everything he thinks.

Sheikh Mohammed Subhan, 14

Jay-Z. He's one of the most successful rappers in the world because he can compose lyrics without writing them down. His lyrics are well thought out and he knows how to work them with his music.

Maryam Naz, 18

Rihanna, without a doubt. She's only 19, but gifted with such a beautiful voice. On top of that, her songs are well written and meaningful. She's so talented that renowned artists such as Jay-Z, Ne-Yo and Ciara want to work with her. She's also gorgeous!

Fifi Whittaker, 16

Brandon Flowers from The Killers. Their new album is amazing, but my favourite song is All These Things That I've Done. His voice is soothingly different from any other I have heard. I met him; he said I was beautiful. I also like Enrique Iglesias.
