Corrections & clarifications

The report 'Script changes', carried on the Behind the News page on February 4, about the dispute over simplified and traditional Chinese characters incorrectly stated that the United Nations had not accepted traditional characters from the start of this year. In fact, it made the switch from traditional to simplified characters in 1972. We apologise for the writer's error.
