Guess who's coming to Chanel's art bash apart from Lagerfeld? They don't know
with Andrew Sun. Additional reporting by Clara Mak.
The Chanel Contemporary Art Container might have been open to the public since last Wednesday, but the luxury label will throw a serious party for it next Wednesday. That's when Chanel honcho Karl Lagerfeld (right) will sashay into town along with the mobile pavilion's architect, Zaha Hadid, for the exhibition, which is starting its six-city tour here.
Chanel representatives say a number of the artists will also arrive for the big shindig, although they can't confirm exactly which famous artists, as schedules are yet to be finalised. The most famous of the bunch is Yoko Ono, but she appears not to be among the rumoured arrivals. As an additional tease, Chanel's people suggested that a couple of other world-famous celebrities would attend the event, but these, too, were not yet confirmed.
Not to be outdone, word on the grapevine is that Louis Vuitton will bring in hip hop star Kanye West for the opening of its gigantic new shop in Ocean Terminal on March 14. We tried to confirm with LV but our calls were not returned.
